Bad Food Kills... Do You Know What’s in Theirs?

But I buy cheap food and my pet doesn't get sick...

Sometimes a pet is unhealthy with no signs of sickness or struggle. A healthy pet adorns a shiny and soft coat, a well mannered altitude, brilliant strength and agility, and lots of energy. The wrong diet will greatly alter these traits in your companion... they can not tell you of every itch and discomfort, we have to rely on the silent cries.

But the good stuff is so expensive, I simply can't afford it...

The price does not always reflect the food quality. There are many companies with prices higher than the rest that are not recommended, and many cheaper than the rest that are a very clean, healthy diet.

But they are so picky and only like one kind...

Most pets have preferences and favorites, but typically there's always more choices. A lot of companies focus on the same flavors of food, but it might no be the flavor they favor most. There are also many textures to choose from, and tons of companies probably sell the same texture as well. Maybe if your pet seems to prefer ' flaked tuna', they would also like ' flaked beef' or ' ground whitefish.

But how do I know what’s good and bad...

A few quick guidelines to follow are:

  • Human grade and Natural
  • Chicken fat
  • Eggs
  • Barley
  • Brewers’ Yeast
  • Linoleic Acid
  • Omega 3 & Omega 6
  • Vitamins
  • Yeast Culture
  • Nothing containing byproducts
  • Nothing containing ‘Animal Fat’
  • Nothing containing artificial flavors or coloring
  • Nothing containing BHT or BHA, both chemical preservatives common in pet food
  • Nothing containing wheat gluten

The FDA does not require pre-market approval for
pet food products... They assume the ingredients
are safe for animal consumption. That explains the
huge rise in food recalls. See for yourself ...
