Animal Abandonment is Illegal

With the ongoing rise in home foreclosures, more and more animals are being left to fend for themselves within the confines of abandoned property only to be discovered sometimes weeks later by building inspectors, police officers, and bank agents.

The foreclosures can not be blamed for this dreadful fact, only the people can. Many people already filled with the stress of financial issues and moving fail to look beyond their own troubles and attend to the companions they have chosen to share their home with. These beloved animals did not invade these homes and force home owners to care for them and give them a warm place to live. They did however choose to love them, and stay faithful. The repayment for their companionship should also be the same. Abandonment should never be an option.
